Complex Networks is looking for a Senior Publicist join the Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team at the center of music, pop culture, entertainment, fashion, and lifestyle.  

Reporting to and partnering with the SVP of Communications, the position will support Complex Networks programming and digital initiatives across the company’s channels - Complex, First We Feast, Collider, Pigeons & Planes, Sole Collector, and Rated Red - as well as with our distribution partners.

The role is based in New York and will work closely with marketing and social media teams as well as channel leaders. The position offers ample opportunities to work independently and be a leader in key areas of the Communications department. It’s a fast-paced office environment with overlapping projects and priorities so we’re looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, organized, can juggle multiple projects at once, has attention to detail, and ability to consistently meet deadlines. Some travel required.

 

The position is based in New York.

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years public relations experience with a background in entertainment and media.  
  • Looking for someone steeped in pop culture.
  • Experience working in entertainment.
  • Experience launching television or digital programming is a plus, but a background in publishing, music, digital media, music, or television industry is also desirable.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on the development of PR campaigns and plans supporting the launch of programming.
  • Conduct outreach for series, specials, and documentaries supporting Complex Networks programming.
  • Work to build a profile for Complex Network’s talent.
  • Draft media alerts, and pitches.
  • Draft press releases as needed. Work with the press to deliver assets as requested.
  • Work in collaboration with our social media teams on programming support.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of high-profile events including ComplexCon, TCA, SXSW, and Upfronts.
  • Manage awards and oversee submissions.
  • Key contact working with SVP of Communications on coordination of set visits, clips, etc.
  • Work in coordination to book talent travel for media appearances and events; responsible for coordinating talent hair and makeup, and tracking budget.  
  • Maintain talent schedules/calendars.
